Feb. 2, 2010 - What We Do in Private

Without a Sperlings' album in the can I thought I'd unveil a project that hasn't seen the light of day. During the 'naughts I recorded a series of lo-fi experimental things using both a 4-track and Audition.  This was the last session with the old warhorse.  As usual, right click to download.

Spacefinger ... Report Coming in ... Spacefinger ... Report coming in ...

Much activity in the Spacefinger world. I've actually recorded a massive amount of material and find that there is nowhere for it to go. I've been so busy that I didn't even have time to update this site. The Ambient series was the first step in a long succession of creative breakthroughs and, ultimately, a large quantity of unreleased material. Massive catalogue of albums, half-albums, sprawling tracks, and at least 15 hours of 30 - 90 minute slabs of sound I call "Symphoniums" (a machine for generating music).

The online store may still happen at some point, but for now I'm going to continue to keep "Ambient Five" posted for download on the news page (HERE).

Abstracct 1-3

On the download page (HERE) you will find my most recent work "Abstracct" (a three disc set.) These will be available in 128K mp3 files as well as lossless FLAC files. Files for the cover art will also be included. These downloads will only be available for a short time, so grab them while you can.

MP3 Works

Also, two mp3-only projects called "Lucifer and Sasifras" and "Meditations." You can split them up into separate cds if you wish, but I recommend just keeping them as mp3s. That's how they were designed.

Spacefinger music is a combination of many "ambient" themed styles such as soundscapes, musical concrete, and some new ideas of my own that I don't think fit any one style. The music is worked up using samples, though not in the traditional sense of the word. The samples are sculpted using Cool Edit Pro's "Music" feature. This can render notes on to a sound, but the sound is mutated in such a way unlike a keyboard that it is virtually unrecognizable and therefore, a new sound. I hope to write a more detailed piece on what this music is, where it comes from, and why I think it has value.

Work continues on the Landru album (or whatever I call my "vocal" counterpart on conical records. The reasons are mainly that there is another Mike Fuller out there on the net and Landru has become associated with me through the myspace site.)

Also, stay tuned for the first published novel (self-published) called "Peter Askew".

October 2, 2006 - New Releases coming. I swear. Until then, enjoy some new archive material under the Music section of this site. My latest Spacefinger album "Delicatearch" will be available as a free download for the month of October. Please, check it out here.

June 28, 2006
- OK, I hated that other design and this drab, huge banner will have to go, too. However, the front page has been overhauled. Will be adding some new tunes soon.

June 27, 2006 - Finally had a few minutes to update the site. There is a new and improved Radio Mike, a new front page, etc. Hoping to get some new/old music up as well as the bio.

June 6, 2006 (666) -
Hail Satan, bringer of darkness, etc. The site continues to grow like an entity. Links have been added as well as a few discs in the discography. However, this is still very much "in progress". I hope to have discs available for sale at some point and I believe The Sperlings albums are still available from www.sperlings.com.

May 25, 2006 -
Beginning to post discography, but don't expect it to be right just yet. I'm not sure when I did what anymore. However, I have posted mp3s of my 1991 ep "Empty" (a favorite of some from that time.) I won't be posting for a few days, so look for new stuff next week.

May 24, 2006 -
New stuff on the music site. It is now being divided into subsections. Don't forget to check out the Radio Mike podcast on the download section.

May 17, 2006 -
Posting on the Spacefinger site as well as updating this site. There are quite a few downloads available on both. Spacefinger.com will feature monthly album downloads. This month features all ten tracks from "The Last".

(later)
More posting on conical and spacefinger. I have the entire Spacefinger catalog listed with covers (though, in some instances, the artwork for the back covers appears to be misplaced.) There are also some interesting additions to this site.

May 16, 2006 - I've posted one or two mp3s in the Music area from the Husk album. Check them out.

May 11, 2006
- Well, finally I'm getting the website together. I'm sure it will change quite rapidly so keep checking back.
